Let’s be honest here, most Old Age Pensioners (OAPs) aren’t interested in horsepower, speed or driving excitement. In fact, most use their small hatchbacks for weekly shopping runs and for the occasional visit to friends and family. However, this isn’t the case for Arthur who’s changed almost everything under the bonnet in his Volkswagen Golf R – including the addition of a gigantic turbocharger, resulting in his car now producing close to 600 horsepower.
Despite drastic internal changes, Arthur was adamant that his car retained a stock look. He didn’t want anything too over the top which could make his car look like a boy racer’s project. The end result is that the car looks completely standard to the untrained eye – talk about a sleeper.
While most OAPs enjoy a relaxing retirement, Arthur built an insanely powerful hot-hatchback with supercar-matching performance. Could he be Britain’s biggest petrolhead?
